Confessions on Super Junior's Super Show 4 Australia

Fuck.
I freaking worship Super Junior. When I discovered that they will be coming to Sydney, I literally bent down to my knees and cried - MBLAQ style.

http://www.jkent.com.au/superjunior/overview/

So they're performing in Allphones Arena on Saturday May 5th for the first time in Australia!
I tried to argue to my parents that all my potential husbands would be there - they were't very impressed, especially how the youngest is 23 :(

image

This is just.. so not happening..

OKAY my dilemmas include:

1. It's in Sydney, I'm in Melbourne
2. Screw mid year exams!
3. That Saturday I have camp :(
4. So freaking expensive..
5. I know friends who have got a standing ticket
6. All 9 of them are just.. so. damn. perfect! and I can't see them..

so close, yet so far away..
*Cue depressing OST music*

Everyone says that they will be back for future Super Shows, but I've heard rumours that they will be breaking up sometime in the next 2 years as they are getting old / need to join the army..

This is so heartbreaking. WAEEEE!??

When I first found this in the mailbox, I was like:

image
 image

I was practically on the floor with the thought of Taeyang clouding up my vision... Anywho he's on my wall, blessing my room with his god-like eye smile keke

The packaging is pretty good; 2 concert discs and a photobook were enclosed in the case. The thing that sucks is that the photobook can't be removed, so flipping through the pages were difficult. Instead of a family card, I found these Polaroid images inside which were really cool. There is one of each member but my favourite is Seungri's.

BACK to the concert... it is indeed a BIG SHOW. My first live concert was actually Big Bang's 2008 Global Warning Tour, but this is an excellent DVD to add to the collection. Big Bang's 4th Mini Album is one of the best out there. All of the songs are beautifully composed, from the title doof doof track Tonight to the eargasmic high notes of Cafe.

The concert starts off with their past songs like Hands Up, La La La and V.I.P. Big Bang is more well known for being a vocal group than a dance group, but they nonetheless perform a killer show with the talents they have. The show then progresses to the solo tracks which is quite a considerable amount as 4 of the 5 members have released at least one solo album. We hear Seungri's VVIP and What Can I Do, Taeyang's Where U At and I'll Be There, Daesung's Baby Don't Cry and GD&TOP's High High and Oh Yeah featuring 2NE1's Park Bom.

Next, they performed their slower songs like Tell Me Good Bye and Koe O Kikasete. Then the show recieves it's last burst of energy with performances like Tonight, Someone to Love, Cafe and What is Right. When we reach to what we think is the end, Big Bang perform their classics like Haru Haru, Lies and Last Farewell. The concert then ends on a high note with Heaven and Sunset Glow.

Like all my concerts, I truly love my Big Show. However I thought 2NE1's Nolza was better in terms of performance, outfits and interaction with the audience. Notable performances include VVIP, Oh Yeah, High High, Tonight, Cafe, Last Farewell and Sunset Glow.

On another note, BIG BANG IS COMING BACK!

Confessions on Super Junior's 3rd Asia Tour - Super Show 3

The packaging for this Super Show isn't very impressive, comprising of the sleeve case, photobook and DVD case containing 2 discs. I was a bit disappointed by this in comparison to the Big Show or Nolza Concert, but a Super Show is indeed a Super Show and one should never underestimate it.

All together, Super Show exceeds 3 and a half hours. It is that freaking amazing/awesome/scary! There are a total of 36 performances including their famous hits Sorry Sorry, Bonamana, Super Girl, Don't Don, No Other and U.

[SUPER JUNIOR THE 3RD ASIA TOUR]TRACK LIST

35. WONDER BOY
36. CLOSING MENT

The show starts with their most popular hit, Sorry Sorry, which then graduates into Super Girl, Don't Don and then No Other. The first few performances are fantastic and full of life and energy. The audience is an entire sea of Sapphire Blue which is excellent to see. Super Junior then go on to perform their fun and lively songs like Confessions and Rokugo. They proceed to their solo performances with Ryeowook's One Fine Spring Day, Eunhyuk and Donghae's I Wanna Love You, Sungmin's dance performance of If You Leave, Shindong's cover of Psy's Champion and Heechul's The Way Idol's Break Up featuring f(x)'s Krystal (some performances are with Sulli).
After songs by Super Junior Trot, the group then perform songs off their 4th album. There is also a special holographic appearance by Kangin who was enlisted in the army at that time. At the climax of the show, the boys unleash their latest title song Miina (Bonamana). After a few more songs like Cooking Cooking and Way for Love, the show is concluded.

I was very satisfied with Super Show 3. It was my first full length official Super Show that I've seen and it was excellent value for money. I mean, 330 minutes of 10 very handsome, talented men?

Cc c can't... resist...

But truthfully I got quite bored half way through their ballad stuff. It just dragged on FOREVER. I know they tried to show their individual talents and skills but I felt that I was going to shoot myself in the head from all the songs that sounded exactly sound.

Despite this, there were many notable performances, mostly from their popular tracks like Sorry Sorry, Super Girl and Bonamana. However I also enjoyed Confessions, Rokugo, I Wanna Love You, The Way Idol's Break Up, Knock Knock Knock and Cooking Cooking. (Songs are linked)

My favourite performances are Confessions and Cooking Cooking. They are both just stupidly ridiculous and fun which is why I like Super Junior.

Eunhyuk and Donghae's I Wanna Love You is like watching Trouble Maker all over again, except that there are two guys and one girl. Lots of promised shirt ripping + Eunhae :)

The Way Idol's Break Up is the product of a brilliant collaboration. Krystal's vocals are an excellent choice with Heechul's rapping and they make a spectacular duo.

I was disappointed with the absence of Lady Hee Hee and Hyukonce :( I was really expecting to see their performance of Lady Gaga's Poker Face and Beyonce's Single Ladies, but unfortunately it wasn't added onto the disc.

Overall, this concert wins for entertainment and energy. Super Junior just explodes charisma on stage!  Now I really want to get my hands on Super Show 4 keke There were some moments which made me a bit sleepy/bored, but with some slow-moving performances were some absolutely fantastic pieces.

Confessions on 2NE1's 1st Live Concert - NOLZA!

Yeah and we're about to set this roof on Fire, baby!

When I first got this DVD, I was like holy crap, it's sooooo damn pretty! The case is wrapped in velvet, similar to the packaging of Seungri's VVIP album. When you open the box, there is the photobook and the DVD cover, both of which are decorated just like a card.

Disc 1:
01 INTRO
02 FIRE
03 CAN'T NOBODY
04 LET'S GO PARTY
05 I DON'T CARE
06 PLEASE DON'T GO -CL & MINZY
07 KISS -DARA(FEAT CL)
08 YOU AND I -BOM(WITH PARK GO EUN)
09 DON'T CRY -BOM
10 ONLY LOOK AT ME -MINZY
11 IT HURTS
12 LONELY
13 IN THE CLUB
14 PRETTY BOY
15 DON'T STOP THE MUSIC
16 CLAP YOUR HANDS
17 HATE YOU
18 I AM THE BEST
19 UGLY
20 STAY TOGETHER
21 GO AWAY

Disc 2:
01 MAKING FILM
02 MULTI ANGLE CAN'T NOBODY
03 MULTI ANGLE I AM THE BEST
04 DOUBLE ENCORE CAN'T NOBODY

This is the only female group DVD concert that I own and it is truthfully one of the best. I was so pumped to watch it as I love so many 2NE1 songs and most of them are recognisable, unlike Super Shows. The concert starts off with their debut hit Fire and carries on chronologically with all their successful tracks. It then moves into all their solo songs and dances with Dara's Kiss, Park Bom's Don't Cry and You and I featuring Bom's sister Park Go Eun and Minzy's dance version of label mate Taeyang's Only Look At Me.

The show continues with their ballads It Hurts and Lonely in contrast to their high energy vocals and dances. The girls then finish up the tracks from their To Anyone album and perform the rest of their 2nd Mini Album including hits like Hate You, I Am The Best and Don't Stop the Music.

Their performance was very well composed in terms of choreography, staging and costumes. I couldn't hear any moments of miming whatsoever, which is a plus. The only negative I can give is that I wished they performed on a bigger stage, but in spite of that, they worked with what they had efficiently and effectively. Stand out performances go to Fire, Kiss, You and I, Pretty Boy and Ugly.

I particularly liked Bom's You and I, firstly because she performed in a wedding dress which gets credibility. Secondly, it was beautiful how she introduced her sister who is an excellent celloist and together, their music was just superb. It makes me wonder what kind of voice she has, being Bom's sister, but nonetheless has the same passion and talent in music.

Out of all the concerts I recieved for Christmas, NOLZA stands as my favourite. The way 2NE1 interacts with Blackjacks is incredible and you can see that they are raw talent just from their vocals. Many people say that Dara has the weakest vocals in the group, but I think her parts in Pretty Boy and Clap Your Hands say otherwise, or at least not like other girl group members out there in the industry. One thing that didn't disappoint was CL's perfect rapping and singing. She totally owned all of Hate You which proves her capability of being such an all-rounded leader.

I was very much impressed with this concert and hopefully there will be more to come in the future with more comebacks and albums. 2NE1 Hwaiting!

  26. Shinee The 1st Concert In Japan "Shinee World" Offshot Document Movie (Bonus Movie)
As I posted a while ago, I will be reviewing the concert DVDs that I recieved last month. SHINee's 1st Concert in Japan happened during January 2011 after their Lucifer promotions, before the release of the Japanese version of Replay (Kimi no Everything).

My version is unofficial, but it is still has the same content as the this one:

The one shown above is the Limited Edition 2DVD + Photobook which is around $145. Mine is just a small fraction of it kahaha

This Concert was quite impressive in that their vocals, dance and overall performance was strong and energetic. Stand out songs were Amigo (rock version), Ayo, Ring Ding Dong, Ready or Not and of course, Lucifer.

SHINee World made an excellent opening, introducing each member and showing each of their talents. The first few songs were energy-packed with non-stop dances like Juliette. Then it moves into a slower section with songs like the Japanese version of Stand By Me, Romantic, Graze and Replay. After a few costume changes and story-based songs/performances, the group then jump back into life with their signature tracks Ring Ding Dong and Lucifer, finishing the show with JoJo and an encore performance of One.

Ayo is my favourite performance as it is one of the few songs that made SHINee seem like they were enjoying themselves and actually having fun. Sometimes it feels like SM is sucking the life and energy out of these boys and this song is really refreshing and enjoyable to hear.

The one thing I was disappointed about was the lack of solo performances. I was expecting to see Key and Taemin's performance of My First Kiss (original by 3OH!3 and Kesha) and Minho performing OMG (original by Usher).

Overall, I really loved this concert. I loved all those fun, humorous snippets of their Japanese interview that was included; really worth seeing.

SHINee should come to Australia again, there are such things as Australian Shawols!
