Confessions on EXO's MAMA

Okay I must confess that I have a love-hate relationship with EXO. It's as though SM is putting so much effort into making everyone like them that I get fed up whenever someone goes off about how brilliant they are. My guess is that their concept is something like interrestrial gods but they just seem too perfect to be liked by me. I'm more of a Nu'est / BAP girl, but EXO just hasn't won it for me yet. I don't see them as real human beings who can enjoy themselves very much on stage.

Alright let's start from the beginning. I actually found the introduction really stupid. Even with all it's epicness, I couldn't bloody understand the story which made me conclude that all the EXO members came from a tree with special powers, but MAMA punished them and despised their 'gifts'. This explains why the keep chanting "MAMA"... right? Either way, screw the narrator and his dodgy English. IT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE!

But uhhh.. I found the visual effects very sexy.

  

 

 

 

 

 

SM should be given an award for mixing chorals, death metal, rap and pop in one song. It's really.. wow fantastic baby.

They only thing that really put me off was the rapping bit. yeah, this bit:

  

I mean seriously, SM, you make them look like retards. Hot retards, but retards nonetheless!

Going back to the whole album, it's pretty sound. I love listening to Machine and Angel, it's just Two Moons which bring the whole album down. It might just be my personal taste, but I really don't fancy the rapping.

Overall, it's a good start for EXO. It might be possible for them to win during their debut, but I think it will take a while before I start to bother learning all their names.
